The BARN core team organises a day in Antwerp with conversations, visits and fun! We start at MORPHO with a conversation about artist-run networks, followed by visits to 3 initiatives in the city: WP Zimmer, FAAR and Samenschool. After dinner at Samenschool, we go visit some places in town!

Programme
13:30h – Conversation at MORPHO: Worldbuilding networks
The conversation brings us together to reflect on how artist-run networks emerge and what they make possible. We will begin with a presentation by the BARN Core Team of the Brussels Artist-Run Network, sharing how BARN operates, the tools we use, the website, the expanding team, and the different directions the network is taking.
Drawing from experiences in other cities and contexts, we will also open up a discussion on the possibility of international artist-run networks and what they could enable.
From there, we would like to move into a more specific conversation around the Antwerp scene, including the strong sense of togetherness following the recent developments around MHKA, and reflect on the role of informal and self-organised networks. How do initiatives position themselves in relation to each other? Is there a desire to continue these exchanges and shape more sustainable forms of collaboration?
We will also look at BARN’s open-source website as a shared tool: could this digital infrastructure be extended to other contexts, allowing for shared maintenance, new functionalities, and future collaborations such as co-curating and collective gatherings?
