SoundHouse, a new space for sound art and music in The Hague
The situation with independent spaces in Den Haag for music has been difficult for some years now. That’s why together with some friends and colleagues Justin Bennett has been working to start up a new initiative – SoundHouse. The space is almost ready after a long renovation process but to make it work some essentials need to be bought. That’s why the collective is starting up a crowdfunding campaign.
Justin writes:
SoundHouse is based in the space of the former Studio Loos. We want to carry on the role that this former venue took, and expand it to cover more genres and more possibilities of live music and sounding art. It will be a place for experiment, development, rehearsals, workshops, research but especially: concerts. We hope to connect the community of musicians in The Hague with local audiences while building up international contacts with invited artists and exchanges.
I hope that you might consider contributing something to SoundHouse, no matter how little, everything counts. And if you can’t support us financially, maybe you could pass this on to anyone you think might be interested. Find the crowdfunding campaign here
You can support us too via social media as well as word-of-mouth, and of course I’m looking forward to seeing you at one of our events, soon to be announced!
