Lactating Bodies by Katya Ev Anton: informal exhibition visits and welcome coffee for professionals with the artist and curator during Art Antwerp at at CC Strombeek, Belgium

During Art Antwerp, the artist Katya Ev Anton and the curator Azad Asifovich warmly invite professionals to a welcome coffee and informal exhibition visits of Lactating Bodies 20251031–0201, the first solo exhibition by the artist at CC Strombeek. On Saturday 13 December, between 11:00 and 15:00, they will be present in the exhibition spaces to introduce the project, share insights, and exchange with visitors with warm drinks and refreshments offered.

Lactating Bodies is developed over four years of artistic research, shaped by conversations with many women who have breastfed. It is grounded in a subject that remains socially urgent yet largely overlooked in public and institutional contexts. From a queer, non-binary perspective, Ev challenges the invisibility and idealization of lactation: long represented through male-dominated iconographies of Virgo Lactans, and reclaims it as lived, shared, and political experience.
