A Song for the Sun Kin(g): Polyphony and Dissonance in the Law Archive

A performance presentation by Louise de Bethune, performed twice: at the ‘Law and the Humanities World’ at the University of Lucern, Switserland, and at the ‘Criticial Legal Conference’ at University of Westminster

Louise works on the question of inclusivity and conflicting rights in the archive. She analyses how the law, in particular data legislation influences these dynamics in the archival sphere. Working with Agency’s Thing 1544, “Music for the Sun King”, this performance asks: who holds rights over the final work?
Musical intermezzos with a portable piano will accompany this exploration of power relations in archives and law.
