Through their research and education project School of Equals, Sarah Késenne and Stijn Van Dorpe explore the role of cleaning and the position of cleaners at the art school where they teach. They believe that cleaning is a core task of the school, as well as part of the practice of artists. Therefore, it is important to bring this work out of invisibility and aspire to respectful relationships with those who perform it. From these thoughts around care and maintenance, an exhibition is set up and a Cleaning Assembly takes place.
